Hives in 3 year old

Looking for some advice. My son who is 3 randomly came out in hives on Tuesday afternoon. Just thought it was something he may of touched running around at the park. Went away immediately with piriton. Wednesday afternoon same thing happened but we hadn’t been to the park. Nothing at all on Thursday and then tonight at about 5pm another outbreak. Saw a pharmacist who confirmed they are hives and told to administer piriton every 4-6 hours. Also saw the GP who said the same thing. It’s now been 3 days and I’m starting to worry. Anybody else had anything similar happen to their child?

My daughter comes out in hives around the same time every year - when the weather begins to get warmer. The same happened me as a child (sometimes still does). She's 12 now and it's been happening for years. Some piriton & chicken pox cream for a few weeks and then they disappear again.

It could also be a reaction to something thats been eaten.

My DS5 came out in them a couple of months ago. Went straight down with piriton. Think he's had one other previous episode. He seems generally quite prone to easily irritated skin.

I did read that in addition to allergens, that emotional stress and viruses/other infections can lead to the rise in histamine that causes them. Is he run down at all at the moment?
