White paint for windowless hallway

Evening all. Can anyone recommend a white paint that will lighten my hallway as best as possible please? I'm in a flat so no windows in the hallway and it's quite dark - walls are still magnolia as I've been doing all the other rooms first. I just wondered if there was a particular shade I should be looking at. The chap who painted my lounge suggested Dulux Timeless but I'm not sure if that would be bright enough.

White is a very cold, harsh colour. I would say cream. Or go for a bold colour, not try to lighten it.

Are you committed to white? I always prefer a dark colour in a windowless space - my feeling is that painting it white will always look a bit dingy, and as though you're trying to brighten a space which just isn't bright, whereas a darker colour can make it feel lovely and cosy, and far more intentional. My windowless bathroom is a very dark blue/green (Hague Blue) and I much prefer it to when it was white!

What other colours have you got round the flat?
We've used timeless quite a lot. I'm preferring Almond White and natural hessian right now.

I'm glad I started this thread! I find it very hard to visualise so just presumed white should be the colour.

My lounge and kitchen are one large room - that's painted in Walnut. Bedroom and bathroom are Egyptian Cotton (matte and vinyl silk respectively). All very neutral and boring tbh but loads better than magnolia!

Timeless is a lovely slightly warm white. But, like PPs, I’d work with windowless and go for a colour - either F&B Hague Blue etc. or maybe something like F&B calamine or pink ground which are warm pinks.

@Newgolddream70 I can't believe this but we've just moved house and had exactly the same. Our hallway and stairs are horrible and we wanted to paint them white. We tried a couple until aomeone recommended "Goodhome One Coat Pure Brilliant White" from B&Q. It's £36 for 10 litres. We had needed to use between 3 and 4 coats on the walls (a dark but bright orange when we moved in). We knew 1 coat wouldn't be sufficient, but with 2 coats of the Goodhome paint I cannot see any orange at all and the walls look immaculate. Been using all week and absolutely delighted with it. I've attached a link and hope it works. Good luck with the painting.

Dulux I think do a light and space paint that has miniscule reflective particles to brighten even the darkest room. We like their White Mist.

I've studied, researched and agonised over whites whilst doing a recent renovation! So many were cold or had blueish undertones which I hate!
My 2 favourites ended up being Dulux jasmine white, a lovely fresh bright white with no blue hues. Pretty much the perfect white imo.
2nd up, I got farrow and Ball 'All White' colour matched at b&q.

Both of these are perfect if you want a lovely fresh white to brighten a room without the horrible blue and grey undertones so many white paints have! You won't go wrong with either of these.

This is F&B All White colour matched at B&Q to give you an idea what it looks like in my kitchen 😊

Ok so this is a very glamorous large hall but it gives the idea of how dark can look stunning
