One boob just randomly over-produced

I was up working late just now, and suddenly felt my left boob dripping. I realised it was rock hard and full.

DS is 13 months and still feeds to sleep and for daytime naps. He last fed about 2 hours ago. I have NEVER had an oversupply. I fed DD since birth until 2, when DS was born, and he picked the baton up with no break.

I spent about 15 mins hand expressing into a bottle and got a good few ounces. No pain. Just full.

I'm perplexed!

We're TTC and I ovulated yesterday. Maybe related?

This happens to me when I feed too much on one side without thinking. It's actually more likely (ime) when you've been feeding over a year because you get into habits like side lying in the same position in bed meaning you feed more on one side than the other

That's happened to me too.
Probably because of feeding longer from the engorged breast in the previous 24 hours.

This happens to me sometimes on days where my son eats a lot of solid food. I think because he isn’t hungry and isn’t taking as much milk as usual during feeds. I wouldn’t have thought it would be related to TTC as they wouldn’t usually start producing anything until much later in the pregnancy but I may be wrong. Maybe it’s different if you’re already breastfeeding? I’ve only been pregnant once so I’ve not experienced this.

He did eat a lot of solids yesterday, so that's probably it. It's just weird because I have never in my 3.5 years of breastfeeding overproduced a single miligram!
