Vinted so annoying.

I sell a few bits on Vinted normally no problem and have all 5 star reviews. I sold a pair of jeans worn once as I found then uncomfortable. The buyer had already offered me a silly price for them and I wouldn't accept so they accepted a more realistic price.
They are now saying that they have definitely been worn more than once because the hem is slightly frayed and the waistband is wrinkled.
The jeans were like this when bought as it is the style.
I think the buyer is just trying it on and they've asked for a refund.
Can I refuse? It's so annoying.

Yes you can refuse. But Vinted usually don’t do anything

Newtrix · 22/02/2024 17:58

I'd asked for her to send them back to you for a refund.

I also find that people have very different standards and expectations. I see items being advertised as 'very good' whereas i think they look satisfactory at best. I don't mean that you've advertised yours wrong just an observation.

Thankyou for your input. For a refund would she need to go through Vinted?

If she’s accepted and paid for them and the money is showing on your balance then vinted won’t do anything. Refunds aren’t really a thing? Her chance to decline them was before clicking the button to accept which would have triggered their dispute process. I wouldn’t refund

@Ineedanewsofa thankyou. The money is in pending so would this mean that she hasn't pressed the accept button yet?

You don't just send a refund to her, you do it through Vinted and she has to pay the postage to send the item back. That's Vinted policy. She's just trying it on.

@mrsjackrussell that’s probably it, if you go to the message re that order you’ll see a standard vinted message saying she has until X date to accept or it will be auto accepted and they’ll release the funds
