Driving test got canceled (the morning of) and i’m gutted!

Just feeling sorry myself and understand that there are people with much larger issues to contend with.

It’s just I got myself all geared up (excuse the pun). I was so nervous and been having lessons all week building up to the test this morning.

Got a call a few hours before saying that one of the examiners list has had to be canceled (presumably he/she is off sick).

These things happen I know, but now i’ll have to pay another £40 per hour for a few more hours before the next test as the new date is another couple of weeks away.

Not going to lie, i’m gutted!

Don’t blame you! It’s really hard when you get yourself fired up for something and it’s cancelled. Fingers crossed for success when you take the test.

I had the same when I was learning, my first got cancelled due to snow, second got cancelled due to the Examiners being on strike. On the third attempt, my Instructor said don’t answer the phone and they will have to find someone if we turn up and that’s what we did. It’s very frustrating as I didn’t tell anyone in case it got cancelled, so nobody knew when I passed.

@XxNatty1xX This is what I need to keep reminding myself! Also, it was raining pretty hard all morning so not the best for concentration etc.

@Mindymomo Funnily enough, I didn’t actually answer the phone this morning (they left a voice message) and I did actually suggest to the instructor about just showing up and pretending that I didn’t hear the message! However, I have paid quite a bit for his time and car on test day and that would have been non refundable, so if they turned me away i’d have lost it. I might have to try if it happens for a second time though! So frustrating :(

Sorry Op. Similar happened to my DD. Snow cancelled one. Then no examiner available. But her theory test ran out because of this so we then had to book another theory test before she could book another practical. She was gutted. More money!
But the next test went ahead & she passed 😊
