Hotels, transport, things to do, all cheap but lovely? i.e. Good value.

Not with kids.

The hotel Brunelleschi is lovely, Make sure you book tickets for the Uffizi gallery before go as the queues can be long. We loved the Boboli gardens. We ate in restaurants in the side streets from the Hotel where the food was actually more authentic, nicer and far cheaper.

There are some fantastic gelatarias in Florence. And if you like steak then Bistecca alla Fiorintina is a good choice.

From the Duomo walk down the road and over the bridge and explore. Also, they have plenty of street markets.

Fantastic City to walk around, so easy.

Unfortunately Florence is not cheap and most sites charge an entry fee now. Prebook the sites you really want to see otherwise you may have to wait around on the day to get in. You can get combined museum entry tickets or a Firenze card www.firenzecard.it/en which can be better value than individually. We found restaurant prices did not vary that much even down side streets or across the river. Lots of opportunities for people watching while eating/drinking and you can get take away sandwiches and gelato and sit outside such as along the Arno or outside Santa Croce. Wear comfy shoes as there is lots of walking.
