Car insurance - I was at fault

Hi,

I reversed round a corner on a one way street to get to a car parking place, ie I reversed a couple of car lengths worth and a car drove into the back of my car.

I was totally at fault, have rung the insurance company and told them this but they insist that because both cars were moving it has to go as a disputed claim. I even got them to check this but they insisted.

Also, I admitted liability at the scene, which I know I shouldn't have done, I was just quite thrown by it.

What is likely to happen? I didn't tell the insurance company that I had admitted liability, I wasn't expecting such a detailed conversation when I reported it. Should I ring them back and let them know that I did? I am worried that that will mean that they won't pay out.

Noooooo, don't offer any more information. In future, never admit or offer liability.

It will end up being a 50/50 claim with no liability, I expect. Unless there are CCTV cameras showing you spinning round the corner doing a handbrake turn?!

Ha ha no there aren't - so it would be covered half on their insurance and half on mine? I haven't actually made an insurance claim in 30 years of driving, it was an off moment
