Who do you speak to if you have had an operation cancelled 3 times and been on the list 21 weeks

Hi I'm after some advice for a good friend of mine . They are due an operation on the 29th of Feb and are extremely worried that they are going to be cancelled for a 3rd time since going on the list . They have been cancelled twice already and both times it's been a nightmare to get a new date . My friend went on the list at the beginning of October so it's something like 22 weeks already. If she's cancelled again does anyone know what we can do or who we can speak to as she's off sick from work and struggling to manage . TIA

PALS?

I thought pals but I wasn't sure if they could do anything

I’d try the consultants secretary in the first instance and/or speak to PALs

I would contact PALS

we've kept dates of calls made to admissions and kept notes about what's been said on each call . Do pals have the power to sort it out , I know that they provide help when you are not happy but do they have any authority in a case like this

To be honest, nobody - they aren't doing it out of choice. The reason for cancellation is typically not enough beds (wars or high dependency) or insufficient staff (less common but we've had strikes). It's tough but they will do it as soon as they can
