How long does wisdom tooth surgery take to recover from?

I’ve had them pulled out and they suggested either have them out now or the surgery. Which one is quicker to recover from. Last time I had them pulled I was in agony and felt my jaw had been hit by a bus.

Not sure what you are asking but it takes about three weeks to recover.

I think it depends on what your roots are like and how complicated it is. I know lots of people find it to be a big deal but I had one of mine out and went straight to the office afterwards with no issue at all. I must just be lucky (I mean, I have shit teeth so have had lots of extractions, so maybe not that lucky!).

I had all 4 of mine out under general anaesthetic when I was 18(years ago!) and it took a good 2-3 weeks to recover

I had line out a month ago,
Took 3 weeks in total.

I got dry socket though which was hell on earth. I had all of mine taken out under GA.

DO NOT USE STRAWS!! That's how I got my dry socket.

I had the bottom left one out in September, and suffered from the WORST case of dry socket- I was in agony for about 2 weeks and even liquid morphine didn't help

If you do have it pulled, I would recommend not eating or drinking for at least a few hours afterwards - I didn't use a straw, but I did eat about an hour later and that must have dislodged the clot 😭

Ended up having to visit an emergency dentist to have it re-packed with the clove stuff - dry socket is the most awful pain

Had a regular dental check up on Monday this week and the dentist mentioned that, although the socket is healed nicely, it hasn't finished healing completely!

Thank god the rest of my teeth are in great condition (I'm 39 and only have 1 filling so far 😁)
