Woke up on Friday morning with a dry/sore throat. Took ibuprofen, thought nothing more of it until lunchtime when my throat got very sore all of a sudden. Legs and arms were sore, skin felt like it was burning/aching. Couldn't swallow due to the pain, was spitting into a container. Couldn't see any white spots however I couldn't really see much of my throat at all (tonsils were removed years ago). Rang gp who prescribed phenoxymethylpenicillin. Friday night pain was utterly horrendous, worse than flu. I slept with a towel on my pillow to catch all the drool due to not swallowing. Woke up on Saturday, felt about 70% better. Went to work Sunday (nurse) and started to feel more unwell as the shift went on. Lost my voice, pain returned with a vengeance. Slightly better Monday evening, worse again yesterday and developed conjunctivitis (with yellow discharge yesterday). Have also developed a cough with green sputum. Today is my last day of abx, but would it be worth contacting gp for another 5 days? Or could it be viral? I appreciate without a swab it's difficult to say but thought someone who has experienced similar could advise. Regular covid tests have all been negative.
