Mine can not make a decent cup of tea. We have been together nearly 20 years and it’s just dawned on me! He’s a lovely man, works hard, good at DIY etc but his tea skills are not up to par. On balance I think I’ll keep him but it just made me wonder!!

Dry his face.
For some reason at night after he brushes his teeth he kind of chucks water at his chin then doesn't dry it?! Comes to kiss me goodnight with a wet face and I hate it!! Bleugh. I'm sure he does it on purpose.

My god, mine does this! And he only ever washes with cold water so his hands and face are freezing 😱...

Put stuff in the bin, it has to be aimed and thrown and usually misses.
Pick up his clothes from the floor, again aims and throws at laundry basket and misses.
Keep tools in one area, he has a pit of a shed, has taken over an outside table under an awning and is now dismantling a welder on the kitchen table.....
Put anything away, anything, good in forward gear but crap in reverse is what I call it
Oh and life admin, no point me going there at all, just gets stressed and tetchy and unpleasant..

He cannot wake up in them middle of the night and pretend to still be asleep. He has to get his phone out and it is so bright , it's like the aliens have come to abduct us.
And then of course, I'm awake.

Stack the dishwasher properly. Washing up in general. It’s like he becomes partially sighted.

I am the one who is not allowed to stack the dishwasher. DH has a SYSTEM which I cannot get the hang of. I prefer to chuck everything in and hope for the best...

Multitask
Cook without a recipe
Hang out washing effectively
Make a flat white (can't do the milk)

Mine cannot find or understand school term dates on any school's website. This is an issue because he books the holidays, I work in a school and our 2 DC attend different schools meaning there's three failed attempts each time. He's an otherwise very intelligent and capable human being.

DeepestDarkestRiver · 22/02/2024 18:20

Tidy. He can hoover, clean, put up birthday decorations, do laundry, organise the DC when I'm travelling for work, etc, etc, but if I ask him to tidy he looks panicked and can't think what to do. 😄

Strap in the carseats. It drives me bonkers! He is a perfectly intelligent human being who does a fairly complex job but he can't seem to take in the information from the manual/YouTube video/actual hands on demonstration in front of his eyeballs!!! Our eldest is 6 so he's had a lot of time to figure it out, but he just can't retain the information and looks anxious if I even mention them.
