Using a bodycam for personal security

Anyone have any experience of using a bodycam personally for security/ gathering evidence - not for work?

Unfortunately I have a bit of a stalking/harassment situation going on. It feels really difficult and embarrassing to say that - it has really messed with my head.

The police have been involved and were supportive, but haven't been able to do much as I don't really have any evidence.

The guy lives near to me so hard to avoid him. I'm thinking about getting a small clip on bodycam to wear when I go out on foot nearby to help me feel safer and so that any harassing behaviour will be recorded. Has anyone else done this and do you have any advice?

I've barely left the house on foot in almost a year. I feel safer getting into my car outside my house and driving everywhere. I just want to feel safe - but am also worried a bodycam would make me feel very self conscious or even attract negative behaviour from others who see me wearing one.

I've also thought that I might be able to use a smart watch in a similar way.

Do smart watches have video recording in the same way as phones do? If so, I thought it might be more discreet to hit start video recording if the guy is nearby and discretely put my arm up like I'm holding my bag strap.

Obviously I have my phone - but unless I'm recording anytime he is close I won't catch the behaviour. Things like saying slut or bitch under his breath, or just glaring at me aggressively.

I've had similar to you recently and have thought a lot about security. Also similar in that police have been good but it's logged as an incident through lack of concrete evidence. They mentioned counselling but I don't want that, I want the bastard to leave me alone.

Definitely get a recording device. Seems like only thing which is legal in the UK since we can't use pepper spray is alarms or farbgel which dyes the nuisance bright red for a few days.

Does he follow you down the street?
