And scooped out three handfuls to put in a bowl, rather than pour them out of the box into the bowl. Is it just me or is this absolutely nuts????

Crunchy nuts

Doyoumind · 20/02/2024 23:05

It's just you.

Unless he's just had his hand down his pants or doesn't wash his hands after going to the toilet, chill.

Precipice · 20/02/2024 23:06

I do that for (some) cereal! But the pack I've got is soft packaging, not boxed, so it rips easily once you get it open and trying to pour it to the bowl would make the pouring hard to control easily and result in spillage.

Smartiepants79 · 20/02/2024 23:06

I always find that pouring leads to too many coming out at once and having to scoop them back in. I wouldn’t have an issue with a family member doing this. You live together. Presumably kiss and stuff. Any germs he’s got, you’ve got already. This kind of stuff just doesn’t even blip on my radar of things to worry about.

Jabberwonky · 20/02/2024 23:14

Yes... it's you.

Fannyfiggs · 20/02/2024 23:18

LTB!!

LizzieSiddal · 20/02/2024 23:19

I thought you were going to say he pulled out a rabbit!

HelloMiss · 20/02/2024 23:19

Can't get worked up about that

Someone will be soon enough though.

ILoveHugeAckman · 20/02/2024 23:19

That's weird. Why didnt he pour it into the bowl??

tellstales · 20/02/2024 23:21

You're nuts. This is perfectly fine.

Moosegooseontheloose · 20/02/2024 23:21

I do that all the time. It’s easier than pouring.

Unless his hands are dirty, get a life !

HelloMiss · 20/02/2024 23:21

Not everyone is a 'pourer'.... we aren't all the same

WinkyTinky · 20/02/2024 23:23

Interesting thoughts 🤔 It had just never crossed my mind to do it that way.

The fact he never bothers washing his hands is another issue....

Nobody got ill from the cereal in the years you've been together?

Caswallonthefox · 21/02/2024 00:40

In my house he'd be welcome to the cornflakes because I don't like them. Otherwise I'd class it as odd. I've never met anyone who doesn't pour their cereal out.

Hoglet70 · 21/02/2024 07:27

I'm always eating cereal straight out of the box with my hands 😳

HalebiHabibti · 21/02/2024 07:29

My mother only ever did what you are describing. She did wash hands assiduously though.

BunniesRUs · 21/02/2024 07:29

Non issue

I think you need to concentrate on the not washing his hands.
My dh get through lots of liquid soap because he washes his hands regularly.

TruthThatsHardAsSteel · 21/02/2024 08:04

Maybe he was looking for the toy?

BaroqueInterlude · 21/02/2024 08:07

I do that, but I am the only eater of cornflakes in my house. I wouldn't do it at someone else's house. It's just easier to get the right quantity without spilling cornflakes.

Deafening · 21/02/2024 08:12

We always did that as kids to get to the free toy at the bottom.

FabFebHalfTerm · 21/02/2024 08:13

I'd say something because it's not on to put your hands into shared food like that. I live alone & don't do that, it's not good to introduce germs/bacteria into food that will be eaten over a period of time.

but 'absolutely nuts' it's not.

Nagado · 21/02/2024 08:38

Are you worried that he’s displaying cereal killer traits?

Greensleevevssnotnose · 21/02/2024 08:39

Do you never eat cereal from the box? Weirdo! 😜
