Could you log in and tell me exactly where to look to change my tariff?

They’ve changed the page and I cannot for the life of me if it’s worthwhile changing my tariff. I’ve been looking and looking!

I am!
We’ve been with Octopus for about 5 years and find their customer service second to none. Previously I always changed companies every year, to whoever was the cheapest. I’ve never changed from Octopus because I know if I ever have a query or problem they answer the phone within a few minutes and have helpful, kind people on the other end of the phone who actually solve your problem!

Ah, are you the one that swears on the advert because you're so enthusiastic 😂😂😂

I've been with them for 5 years, find them really good. I do everything online, take meter readings monthly and get updates on my costs and predictions for the future. No random payments, all perfectly orderly and sensible.

We’ve been with them about 5/6 years and always been really happy.

However, something weird happened recently!

Out of the blue and with no explanation I was refunded my electricity payments for both November and December 2023 and haven’t received an electricity bill since. We have a smart meter but are now sending our own reading every month which still hasn’t generated a bill. Our electricity bills have always been around the same amount every month - slightly less during the summer of course - so can’t see where we were due the refund.

I rang them early this month and a girl seemed pretty unsure but finally told me
some customers - including us apparently - are suffering a glitch with reading the smart meters but this should be sorted by end of February. It seems they will then just ask for the refund to be returned. 🙄 Thankfully I have left the money in my dd account but am now worried I will finally receive a bill for around 6 months usage which will be way more average per month than I have always paid which will then mean a battle.🤬

I'm surprised by some of the comments here. I changed Octopus tariff in December using the website and it all went fine. They're quite open about some bits of the website being new and possibly not fully developed which is refreshing.

They rely on other technology such as smart meters and the rest of the grid which is operated by other firms, so sorting things out isn't always under their immediate control.

Anyway, they get my vote.

For those who commented about being organised with mthly or regular meter readings- I’ve always done that too- have to in order to be able to monitor usage and budget.

The error on my account was completely agent error, not such an issue with mistakes, they happen from time to time. My issue is with how long they took to resolve and not actually resolving until I complained publicly online- tells me all I need to know!
