What is this dent in my forhead?!

Noticed it around 2.5 years ago after starting botox every 3 months to treat migraines. Neurologist said it's not caused by the botox even though I had initially thought it was muscle atrophy. GP had no idea but said maybe an indentation that's always been there that's now becoming more apparent as I age.
Google says En Coup De Sabre which really freaks me out! It's getting longer so scared it'll make it's way straight down the centre of my forhead.

Anyone have any clue what this is?

I have this too but mines runs to just above my nose. Had no idea until I got Botox

I have one but I've never had botox

I wonder if it's just a normal thing then? I never noticed it before, only after about 6 months of regular botox I noticed the dent about half the size starting at the top and that's how big it is now. I can feel the indent when I run my finger over it, feels like it's in the bone!

I have this too

DIANAPRINCESSOFSNAILS · 20/02/2024 19:00

I noticed the same thing on my own head and had a similar freak out recently. Never had botox.

Wowzel · 20/02/2024 19:00

I've got one too, I only noticed it recently and have never had botox.

daylightdreamer · 20/02/2024 19:01

I have a similar one on the side of my head and apparently it's caused by pillow creases causing sleep wrinkles

TheYearOfSmallThings · 20/02/2024 19:09

It has probably always been there but become more visible as the collagen ender the skin (which has been filling it out) reduces with age. I have one that runs though my eyebrow - I could feel it before but it has gradually become visible as I go through my forties. I've never had Botox so it hasn't been caused by that.

Nothing to worry about basically!

It is in the bone - it is just the way the plates fused together when you were a baby.

ALiteralHoleInTheHead · 20/02/2024 19:15

Ahh! Good to know others have the same. Makes sense about the plates fusing together and becoming more noticeable with age. I think I'm just sensitive to it as I already have a whopper of a forehead and very very thin hair so not much chance of hiding either forehead or indent with a fringe!

It’s just the suture lines of your skull. I have it too

ALiteralHoleInTheHead · 20/02/2024 19:40

OK so nothing to worry about. That's a relief!

It’s definitely nothing to worry about OP. Just part of what makes you, you ☺️

TheYearOfSmallThings · 20/02/2024 19:57

If it really bothered you, you could get some filler put in to replace the natural collagen that filled it out before. Personally I don't really consider it a problem (I am saving my concern for the extra chins and greying hair Grin).

ALiteralHoleInTheHead · 20/02/2024 20:25

@TheYearOfSmallThings As long as it doesn't stretch any further down my forehead I think I'll be able to ignore it for the most part. Just don't like the idea of it reaching my eyebrows!
