Overwhelmed poss depression- will a gp help!

I'm feeling completely overwhelmed both with home and work.
I'm struggling to focus and don't care about work atm. It's been building up- more work/ change of projects/ new manager.
At home - I'm struggling to think of meals/ keep up with cleaning/ school work and kids problems/ looking after dh
And the resentment of being responsible for everything.
I want to go to bed for a week!
Is this depression? Can a gp actually help?
Is it worth getting an appointment for tomorrow?

I’d definitely talk to a GP. Overwhelm can be a symptom of a few things but best to get some help earlier rather than later for mental health (as with physical health).
I’ve had depression, anxiety and burnout at various times and it’s quite hard to tell them apart.

Thanks I'll try to get an appointment tomorrow.

Agreed. Please do see your GP.

Why are you looking after your DH? Is he unable to care for himself?

Stressedgiraffe · 20/02/2024 15:28

He can look after himself but has neuropathy so doesn't do anything else around the house . It's like having an extra child .
