Choosing working days... WWYD?

Before my current mat leave I worked Monday - Wednesday. I'm currently in discussions with my boss to drop a day so, if all goes to plan, I'll be working just two days. Thursday/Friday aren't an option as there's another PT staff member that works these days.

As I'm a teacher, I know they'll want me to keep my days consecutive. So my options are (if I get a choice), Monday/Tuesday or Tuesday/Wednesday.

Benefits of Monday is that I'll occasionally get a bank holiday Monday off (not factoring half terms, it works out about 2 per year). Extra long weekend wouldn't really be a huge benefit as older DS would be at school and DH would be asleep ready for night shift that night, so no possibility of long weekend away etc.

Benefits of Wednesday is that I'll occasionally have to attend staff meetings on this day so if I'm already in, I wouldn't need to come in on my day off (meetings would be on a 2 out of 5 weeks rotation. I'm a 5 min drive from work so distance not much of an issue).

WWYD?

Definitely Tuesday and Wednesday. If staff meeting might is a Wednesday you’d already be there. The thought of having to go in for an hour on a day off means work would be on your mind all day. There’s only one bank holiday Monday that you’d benefit from. If you did Tues and weds, you wouldn’t get the Sunday night blues anymore either! Sounds perfect to me

Tuesday and Wednesday. I wouldn't be coming in for a meeting on my day off.

Tuesday & Wednesday

I don’t work Monday’s and it’s lovely.

Definitely Tuesday and Wednesday. I haven't worked Mondays for years, and it's so nice not having that Monday morning feeling, which always used to start on a Sunday evening!

Fun dilemma! I agree Tues/Weds.

Thanks everyone! It seems the consensus is Tuesday/Wednesday.

@mindutopia, the other teacher who works Thurs/Fri has to do this currently. It's because, as a school, we tag our 5 INSET days onto the end of May half-term. For the staff to get these days off too, we have to work twilights (on Wednesdays) to make the time up.
