Tell me where to go on holiday!

I haven’t been on holiday, or even really had time off, for years. I feel increasingly close to burn out and like I’ve forgotten how to relax. I think I can save enough for a cheap holiday for me and my partner in april or may, probably about £500 - £600 including spending money. I want to go somewhere warm for as many days as that can get me, be able to afford a couple of meals out, coffees and ice cream, but happy to mostly get supermarket food in. We’re not big drinkers or gourmands so not that fussed about bars or restaurants. I always think I want to lie on a beach or by a pool and read but actually get bored of that quickly. We both like history and nature, so maybe somewhere with some easy walks to some ancient or medieval sites would be nice. We’re not that fussy about accommodation as long as it’s clean and friendly. Please tell me what lovely holiday you’ve been on that I can copy!

Me and my friend had an airbnb apartment in the Algarve last May, decent price £45 per night and flights were only £100 each. Weather was lovely.

Malaga….cheap flights, lots to do, good food, weather lovely.

Venice. Stay in Mestre or on one of the caravan/camping sites and fly hand luggage only with Ryanair

I’m going to Avignon in April. I’m getting the train but flights to Marseille look cheap.

Or fly to Naples, stay in Pompei so it’s cheaper and you can visit the ruins, then use the train to explore the Amalfi coast.

I’m also a Malaga fan.

Madeira

I was looking yesterday in relation to a thread in “holidays” and from Stansted you could fly to Barcelona for 4 nights for £45 return on some dates in April. There’s loads to see in the city and there’s beaches on the edge of the city too if you fancy a lazy day. Ryan air have a flexible dates search to find the cheapest flights or if you use a company such as jet2 holidays or Tui you can do an open destination search.
cyprus might also suit you for a mix of beaches / pool and historic sites although the flight is longer.

Thank you for all of these lovely ideas! I will be researching each one to keep me sane in breaks at work.
