All ideas welcome and any progress with meeting new people.
I am planning on joining 1 or 2 courses just to step out my comfort zone.

Joined 1st one already. No friends made, but it breaks up the week.
Only issue is its harder than I thought and knocks the confidence more.

I am looking for Film Club type groups.

Bumping.
I’ve been searching for groups/meet-ups/associations-anything really, in my area and there really isn’t anything.
There are a couple of possible volunteering opportunities 2 towns away but everything else is either when I’m working or it’s crafty, and I have no artistic talents at all.

What is the first one that you’ve joined?

Yes it is difficult when you have to travel far to meet new people.
Ok for occasional stuff if nothing local.
It was beginner group guitar lessons.
Very difficult.
I am also not artistic but silver smithing as a one off sounds ok.
Would you travel to a different City for a interest if it means alternative is only going alone?
I also think with these things, it all depends on the the people that turn up. Sometimes it's small talk about said interest, and maybe it's meeting up outside that once the lessons/ group has finished?

I do a sewing class..everyone else is old enough to be my mum. I took a long time but we all love each other. I feel totally comfortable around all of them. I could sit and talk or sit silently and either way I just feel at home with them all

The very wise Anna Raeburn says when making connections you have to be prepared for knock backs and not to take it personally as you don't know what's going on in that person's life.

Good luck, OP.
