I’ll start

Georgia Tennant. I don’t know why. Is it jealousy? I dunno 🤷‍♀️

And yes I know I’m being mean.

@Winterlight I'm sure I once heard a joke somewhere ages ago (saw on TV maybe? I can't recall) where someone was ringing Currys to get a refund on their telly, "because Titchmarsh came on and I smashed the fuck out of it". Surely there's not a Currys manager in the land who would deny that full refund
😅😅

GR8GAL · 21/02/2024 15:08

The news. Gave up watching it years ago, much happier.

Lanneederniere · 21/02/2024 15:54

Monica Plaha (BBC Look North).

I have to turn the TV off.

Narcissism off the scale.

FayCarew · 21/02/2024 15:59

I switch off immediately if it's Alan Titchmarsh. Same with Chris Packham. I could never stand Russell Brand. Not sure about Jamie Oliver
Stephen Fry in 'intellectual mode' is insufferable.

Anyone who has the same backstory trotted out every sodding single time too. It might not be their fault, but I don't need to be reminded that so-and-so is amazing because of their sob story.

I saw this on Twitter and immediately thought of this thread (from 1983)

Dawn French
Stephen Fry
Emma Thompson and her husband
Miriam Margolyes
Michael MacIntyre

@ssd I do. Her political rants are brilliant. She has loads of people on side.

I don't believe her political rants. I think she does them to try and keep herself relevant because her job opportunities have dried up. I've always found her very smarmy, and have never liked her but I despise her now.

I agree

there is something a little too contrived in her political statements but they gain her attention 🥱

like her frolicking in the snow with David Cameron gained her attention

IWanderedLonely · 21/02/2024 22:13

Tine Daheeley (sp?) when she takes part in Zoe Ball's Thursday quiz - so competitive and smug.
I do like Zoe Ball though.

Thought of another one. Cliff Richard. His eyes are deeper than the Mariana trench and twice as full of murk. If he doesn't have a hundred thousand skeletons rattling in his faux mahogany wardrobe, I'll eat my hat. A spiteful elongated walnut of a man who sadly looks like his idea of a decent meal comes from licking off his tinted lip balm and logging the calories.

But worst of all, he forced me to feel actual sympathy for Alison "LaughBlusterLaughShriek" Hammond against my will, when the slippery little pleather-coated snake of a man got in some digs about her weight on TV, where she couldn't feasibly just knock him out with one incredibly satisfying punch.

Which brings me nicely onto Alison Hammond 😅 She seems only able to voice thoughts that have just occurred to her that very second. Like a mental version of spinning plates on a stick, each unfunny sentence bawled out, to crash to the ground. I don't understand her popularity, I don't think she's a bad person per se, just omnipresent and annoying enough to merit some ire.

100% this!!!

Yes. Like her 'I definitely haven't had any breast implants or a bbl' protestations. I know someone who has seen her in real life and says she definitely and very obviously has, and she looks ridiculous.

SquashPenguin · 22/02/2024 09:09

Taylor Swift. Drivel.

Nothing wrong with her brain though!

Sir David Attenborough( sorry)

So you should be! 😀😁🥸

I’ve met him on several occasions and he’s lovely and just how you would expect. Stops and takes an interest.

hamsterswhiskers · 28/02/2024 19:15

Beyoncé once she opens her gob and starts wailing. If I hear 'Single Lady' I swear I want to punch someone.

cardibach · 19/02/2024 17:12

You’re all going to hate me…
Miriam Margolyes.
She just thinks she’s so alternative and hilarious because she’s a sweary lesbian. Nobody cares, love. Or at least I don’t.

Me too. She's classless and awful.

Jeremy Clarkson, Tony Robinson, Tom Cruise. Cannot even bear to hear their voices.

the80sweregreat · 18/06/2025 20:26

Robert Peston! His voice is like nails down a blackboard.

newnamethanks · 20/06/2025 07:18

Peston annoys me. I want to hear what he's got to say but can't bear his overwrought presentation style. I thought it was only me that takes an instant dislike to some people because of their voice. It's irrational but I can't bear listening to many, regardless of content. Trump is a prime example, his voice is horribly creepy and seems to match his personality perfectly. Shudder. Ugh.

ssd · 20/06/2025 09:53

Peston is really annoying. I find myself concentrating on his way of talking rather than what he's actually saying.
