Thank you.
How old are your twins ?
I am in awe of any mother that can look after twins at once. I suppose its gets easier but I imagine with newborn twins you never sleep!!!!!! And how did you settle one/feed/change if the other starts crying too?

Twins are 4 1/2 years old; they’re boys.

They’re my only children, had later on in life (I was 47!), so I don’t know any different to caring for 2 at once - though I have loads of experience looking after kids through nieces & nephews and my work so I knew pretty much what I was doing.

No, I never slept that much until they were about 3 1/2 and began to improve at sleeping through the night, though we still get the odd night like tonight where we’re all awake at 3.45am!! Thankfully I spent many years working night shifts so my body was used to running on little sleep as I was no good at sleeping in the day. And I am grateful that they were relatively easy babies apart from being small and having reflux.

I was quite lucky that DH works from home and would help with changing nappies and settling one twin while I sorted the other but, if he was working, I just had to manage and would use a bouncer and move it with my foot while I changed the other one. I would also tandem feed a lot, especially at night, to reduce the disruption. They had regular top up feeds till they were about 6 months old then I mostly breastfed them both and used formula for making up their meals or a single bottle feed a day. I also made sure to swap which of them had to wait so it wasn’t always the same one being sorted out second.

lol! No, I made it and it's very easy. 3 kg of ox cheek from the butchers (cut into chunks), some herbs in a bad (inc bay and thyme) and a litre bottle of Spring bone broth which costs 17 quid (I know it's expensive, sorry). Put it all in a big saucepan, put the lid on, and cook over low heat for five hours. Check it occasionally to make sure it's not sticking: you know the drill.

The collagen in the ox cheek breaks down and makes it absolutely freaking delicious. I finish it by removing the herbs and adding a weak slurry of cornflour to thicken the juices a bit.

This is enough for pies and suet puddings and "with vegetables" for weeks. It also freezes well.
