Leggings

gimmegimmegimmeagin · 18/02/2024 21:51

Looking for new leggings, more for every day and not for the gym.
Any recommendations please for decent brand that doesn't wrinkle at the knee and become see through after first wash!
Sweaty betty are slightly out my price range, was thinking gymshark but not sure what they're like.
Thank you all.

I like the snag ones (they have pockets). Have had Lucy Locket Loves recommended, but haven’t tried them myself.

lifebeginsaftercoffee · 18/02/2024 22:01

Sinophant ones off Amazon. I wear them everyday as a dog walker - comfy, non see through and have a high waist band. I absolutely love them.

They come in a few colours but I've only worn the black ones. Had some of them for the years and they're like new. It's about £22 for three pairs I think.

Lovall leggings! They're my staple 'go to' for leggings. Fit nicely and not see through 👍

I've got a few Sweaty Betty pairs and they're fab. Unlike the Lovall ones I got last month and are bobbled to hell already... very disappointing for the hype they get. Otherwise, Next do some ponte leggings that are very thick and wash well - I think they're around £30 a pair.

Wouldn't touch snag with a very long barge pole.

I like fabletics, just order and cancel the subscription

Why? Have you tried them? Mine are fab. Thick, good pockets, wash well, don’t fall down, don’t show underwear…
Are you judging them for advertising their larger sizes on larger women, perhaps? That’s mostly where I find resistance to the brand. People who won’t wear ‘fat people clothes’.

Ginandjuice57884 · 18/02/2024 22:20

Uniqlo are great and affordable.

Etincelle · 18/02/2024 22:34

Next own brand are good

SgtJuneAckland · 18/02/2024 22:37

@cardibach IME most objections to snag are around their misogyny and degradation of women. For me it's also because their tights snag more easily than Tesco cheapies

cailingaelach · 18/02/2024 22:57

Glowmode from Shein, they’re fab.

BillieJ · 18/02/2024 23:24

I have two pairs of M&S thermal leggings that I've worn every week for two winters now. They've worn and washed well.

Namenamchange · 18/02/2024 23:41

Adanola see good, reasonable price as well

Seconding this. They keep selling out, unsurprisingly - worth waiting for the colours & sizes you want.

Windmill34 · 18/02/2024 23:58

Sainsbury’s think there £12 a pair , not see though and wash great
not the 2 pk ones

Spanglybangles · 19/02/2024 00:29

Mint Velvet leggings are pretty good I’ve found. Second some Next ponte ones, really thick, so definitely not see through.

Margaritasandmojitos · 19/02/2024 02:08

Sweet legs

What misogyny? I don’t like all their products/adverts but I would t have said they were misogynistic or degrading. I don’t wear tights on the whole but I have some if their footless ones which seem quite tough. Their leggings are very thick and hard wearing.

SgtJuneAckland · 19/02/2024 12:43

@cardibach it's the recent products saying things like choke me, and very sexualised advertising

I haven’t seen those - thanks.

Laughingfaceemoji · 19/02/2024 12:51

I always wait for the sweaty betty sale and you can get them for around £40. Or from places like brand alley. I’ve tried every type over the years and nothing beats the sweaty better power leggings.

ParadiseLaundry · 19/02/2024 15:14

Gymshark are my favourite and they wash really nicely.

gimmegimmegimmeagin · 19/02/2024 17:57

Hi Grin can I ask, how easy is it to cancel fabletics? I've wanted to try them for a few years now but put off by being tied into a new pair every month ... no one needs that many!

thepurplepenguin · 19/02/2024 19:45

Pursue Fitness do fantastic non-see-through leggings and are always on sale. I bought them for the gym but also use the plain black ones for casual wear. Better than Gymshark imo.
