Does anybody else dread school holidays?

I know this sounds really awful to say! Don't get me wrong, I love my DS to pieces and enjoy spending time with him.

But holidays are difficult and I don't look forward to them much. He's autistic so him being out of routine is a nightmare anyway to be honest, but being out of school is much worse for him.

There's only so much I can do to entertain him before we run out of things to do. And even "normal" activities can be so difficult as it depends how well he will cope with it. I'm also 38 weeks pregnant so I can't do much running about after him lol.

Anybody any advice please? 🙏🏻

Sounds tough OP Flowers how old is he? Would he be able to cope with a holiday camp for a few half days or something like that?

He's only 4. There was a holiday club but I was anxious about putting him, as he has a 1:1 at school and without that would really struggle. Plus the cost was ridiculous and couldn't justify it right now with a baby due soon 😬

Would a routine for the holidays work?
Set up a timetable with him so he knows what to expect but warn him that things could change sometimes.

What did you do before he started school?

Sounds tough being 38 weeks but is not every holiday.

Set up a timetable and let him get on with it.

You have -12 years of school holidays how can you help yourself and DS?

Is there an ASET team who will help give advice?
