Who wants to come and live in my lovely imaginary women’s commune with me?

LordBeaverbrook · 18/02/2024 13:59

Having read the posts about the disgusting 35 year old porn shagger, other posts about useless husbands who dont know how to clean up after themselves & having been ill & then come downstairs to a shit hole of a house, I have decided that most (all) men are unwiped arseholes.

I want to go and live in a lovely community of women. Do you want to come along with me? We can all have our own home but lovely shared spaces where we come to help & support each other and make each other laugh. We can have a screening room where we watch reruns of pride and prejudice. Also a weights/gym/yoga centre whereby we invite specially selected instructors. We could start with that skipping guy from instagram? (see note below).

If men must visit, sigh, they must pass the round table of the wisest amongst us. Anyfucker can lead. Fail this test & they exit through a trapdoor. Or a catapult.

Who is in?

What's a choicy feminist?

Presumably one that she thinks isn't the right sort of feminist

Because we can't help but decide that other people aren't the right kind of women

@tuvamoodyson "…and who would have to cope with all that ‘mental load’ and ‘life admin’ not to mention the ‘wife work!’ Would we have a rota??"

Probably. What's wrong with that?

cerisepanther73 · 18/02/2024 15:31

I was simply asking. What’s wrong with that?

Why do you need men as a balance?
Have you ever lived with a group of women?

amberedover1 · 18/02/2024 15:49

Have only read the title thread and my answer is yes please ME!

CurlewKate · 18/02/2024 15:50

@tuvamoodyson "I was simply asking. What’s wrong with that?"

Just assumed the multiple exclamation marks and question marks meant something. My mistake.🤣

cerisepanther73 · 18/02/2024 15:50

@LordBeaverbrook
Also like to have a good music evening session every so often

And a hot stone sauna Native Americans type of sweat Lodge onside too so we could relax ect around this

Could we have a trampoline too?

No…didn’t mean a thing.

Notahotmess · 18/02/2024 15:51

No thanks, I actually like my husband, believe it or not.

CurlewKate · 18/02/2024 15:51

Incidentally- "a live without men"...

Just checking- this isn't an enclosed order, is it?

HarpieDuJour · 18/02/2024 15:52

It sounds lovely to me. You would need to be careful about selecting the women, though, so that there was some sort of common interest or shared experience that would help to build a community.

I've lived with a group of women a couple of times. Once it was a really calm, healing experience, and once it was...not.

Dapbag · 18/02/2024 15:53

You have my interest.

I've been giving soil away on Freecycle this week end (left over from a landscaping project). I've had a constant trail of couples to my yard collecting the soil. It's a gift to them, on sunny days, and I've been cheery with all and happy to help them load up the soil. You think they'd have been upbeat at the thought of something useful for nothing.

But my god the men have been grumpy. Their wives full of smiles and chit chat but the men mute, reluctant and terse. How do these women put up with the miserable devils? What can possibly be in it for them?

Could we have a lovely garden to potter in and drink wine do yoga?

cerisepanther73 · 18/02/2024 16:04

Could we have a occasionally or sometimes permission to have a good chef 👩‍🍳 who can cook amazing dishes at a moments notice
He has lots of imagination and flair and skill

Or

Even a 🤖 👾 Robot who could perform like that kind of request then?

cerisepanther73 · 18/02/2024 16:07

and i promise you the Robot 🤖

Or

the chef will not swear like Gordern Ramsey either too..

What do you 🤔 think ?@LordBeaverbrook

These are excellent ideas. I’m noting them down in my jotter:

no sweary chefs
magic cleaning robot
gardening - courses run by Monty Don?He seems like he wouldn’t have us in porno poses.

(reference to other thread here if that seems random)

I'll come. I'll grow veg and so on. Can I have a zombie film screening though please because Pride and Prejudice irritates me, thank you.

Dapbag · 18/02/2024 16:20

As it's a women's commune we could have a female alternative to Monty Don. Carol Klein is wonderful, or perhaps Frances Tophill?

Errm — plenty of women are amazing chefs, skilled and imaginative. It doesn’t need to be a man, but why be prescriptive either way?

ScierraDoll · 18/02/2024 16:23

At one time I would have said yes in a heartbeat but reading some of the posts on MM I wonder if having too many women in one place is such a good idea

GalileoHumpkins · 18/02/2024 16:29

3 pages of this thread have made me want to say a very firm, no thank you.

Just from the title alone, I'm out. Can't think of anything worse than living with women. Shudders

My first thought was god no, everyone would be arguing and discussing who was “rude” that day.

Same. So far we have crafts, staring into a log fire, and getting some men round to do the DIY.

Sounds shite to me 🤣
