What’s happening in your house today?

I’m recovering from surgery and can’t do much at all. I’d love to hear what you’re up to today (exciting or not).

I’m still in bed, cuddling with the cat, while DD does preteen things in her room. DS is away for the weekend.

Am considering going to the shop later or possibly putting on a load of washing but if I’m being honest a shower would be a massive achievement!

16yo DS is on an outride with his riding school. I am looking at an empty suitcase, we are going away tomorrow and I need to pack but I can't seem to find the motivation. I've been to the gym and read a bit of my book, now I really need to crack on. Ugh.

I've just got up & am having coffee. DH & DS1 are in the office watching cricket as we can't get it on the tv, DS2 isn't here but he made some noise about going climbing so I expect that's where he is. No other plans for any of us, nice quiet day.

I'm having a duvet morning watching trash on channel 5 catch up while shouting orders about GCSE mocks revision to my son who's mostly ignoring them or finding some displacement activity to do. I could set a watch by him needing the toilet for a long sit down after ice asked him to do some work 😅

Later ...getting ready for back to school (half term was this week just gone here) and need to feed the birds as well. Asda delivery due in a few hours and then a bath and relax before term time busyness starts.

Laundry, baking, pickling, crafting with DD, and the baby has properly started to crawl and pull himself up so we’re panicking about baby proofing too late.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Take it easy.

I'm still in bed. I work 6.5 days a week and struggling to get moving.

Kids are at their Dads so debating doing stuff I should do and things I want to do. I'll probs find a combination.

Good luck with the post op recovery.

Quiet day here. DH was working yesterday, so didn't get to spend time with DD. They're downstairs playing while I'm upstairs hoovering/tidying/mumsnetting to give them a bit of space. Will go downstairs for lunch in a minute, then probably more of the same this afternoon. I'm making our family favourite curry for dinner this evening 😋

Home day pottering today. All still trying to shift a persistent cough and runny nose we have had about 3 weeks between us.
Ds and I had a bath this morning. Laundry on. I’m planning on doing some gardening shortly as need to get some compost dug out for seedlings.

I'm still in bed! Have done too much the past couple of days and I'm paying for it now. I think I've broken myself!

Dh dropped dd at a girl guiding activity this morning and will be collecting her this afternoon. He's planning on some diy before picking her up but hasn't started yet.
Ds (16) is in his room, I like to think he's doing some reading for his A levels but I imagine he's probably playing Football Manager on his laptop.
I have just scrubbed around 32 sq m of slate floor by hand (kitchen diner and utility room). I love my floor but it's a bugger to keep clean as a mop just doesn't get in all the ridges so every few months it needs a proper clean. Currently waiting for it to finish drying so I can vacuum it for the second time. Lunch in an hour or so and then washing and drying and folding of uniforms ready for back to school tomorrow. I might try to get some work done on my PhD later but not holding out too much hope that I'll have the motivation!
