Parkrun this morning in the rain, home for leftover pizza followed by walk on beach. Now relaxing on couch wild wondering whether to have a cuppa & chocolate biscuits or willI just make a desert on dinner. Choices choices 😊

newyearnewnothing · 17/02/2024 16:42

Got up at 6 and went out with camera for an hour.
Ran some errands later in the morning and been home watching One Day this afternoon.
Making crispy shredded chilli beef soon and then a game of scrabble

Babyboomtastic · 17/02/2024 16:45

Rubbish
I have covid, feel like death and am alone this weekend with my 4yo. My usually lovely husband is away with our older child and hasn't once asked how I'm doing.

I keep falling asleep, and poor 4yo is perfectly safe, fed watered etc, but probably so bored.

Urgh.

biglog · 17/02/2024 16:49

Been to the Gym, the shops for food. shower and am now doing some housework, will make dinner a veggie shawarma before settling in for the evening with DH. Maybe play a game, watch a movie or listen to records and read.

ButCanYouReallyNoThoughtNot · 17/02/2024 16:51

Up early, walked the dog, put a wash on, made the beds
DP dropped me off at the hairdressers for a half head of colour
Had a mooch around town and picked up a new £20 jumper for £5 for DD from a charity shop
Bought some baked treats from the local market
Had a coffee and got the bus home
DP & Dog fast asleep upstairs snoring in harmony
Made myself a cup of tea and off for a hot shower in a bit and clean tartan pyjamas
Stuffed jacket potatoes for dinner and a night in front of the TV

ROCK AND ROLL!!! 🤟

BouleDeSuif · 17/02/2024 16:52

Walked the dog and the child this morning, did a litter pick in the park, made bread, cheese tart and sultana fairy cakes, had a couple of hours digging the allotment and am now wondering about takeaway for tea.

biglog · 17/02/2024 17:02

@BouleDeSuif What do you do with your litter? I want to do that round here and I used to when we could leave black bin bags for the rubbish collection but they refuse to life the black bin bags now and we only have a little bin so can't fit a full of litter bin bag in our bin!

SmithfamilyRobinson · 17/02/2024 17:06

Up at 7, did Wordle, Guardian weekend crossword and then flicked through actual paper, which is delivered, sipping coffee #1
DH cooked poached egg and grilled tomato with toast. Coffee #2
Made bread in breadmaker.
2 lots of Duolingo Italian
30 min run
Shower, wash hair & clean en suite
Lunch - fresh bread toasted and homemade parsnip soup from yesterday
Mopped kitchen floor and cleaned kitchen light switches, cupboard handles and bin
Mooched upstairs to read on Kindle which is frozen... currently drinking tea and snaffled last cookie.
Just about to fold washing #1
Deferring bathroom & downstairs loo til tomorrow.
DH vacuumed house.
Feckless youths (20 & 22) - 1 on computer/watching football & other at band practice (Rock & Roll!)
Pasta bake & TV later.

FizzyStream · 17/02/2024 17:07

DS1 scored a goal and got man of the match this morning.
I got ID'd in a shop (I'm 42! And they didn't believe me!)

Currently making roast pork and FIL, DH and 2 x DSs have been watching footy.

It's pissing with rain but I managed a walk in the woods earlier in a dry spell.

Nothing planned this evening. Might have an early night and watch a series in bed. Recently widower'd FIL is staying over so DH will stay up nattering with him.

igivein · 17/02/2024 17:19

DS passed his driving test today, so celebratory takeaway tonight (although can’t send DS to collect as can’t update the car insurance until tomorrow)

RightOnTheEdge · 17/02/2024 17:24

Having a lazy day.
Rare lie in this morning then had leftover Chinese for breakfast.
Watched Last Stop Lorrimer while the kids cleaned out their pet mice and I have been playing Candy Crush, scrolling mumsnet.
Ds is on the sofa with me and dd is getting ready for her friends 13th birthday party.

My ex's mum has just sent me 11! messages that I've had to Google translate telling me how my poor ex is suffering and having a terrible life because I am stopping him from speaking to/seeing the kids and I've no right to do it because we both made them together.

My ex is a total loser who never bothered with his kids when he lived the other side of a small market town and then moved hundreds of miles away without even telling us he was going. I still don't know where he is. I have NEVER stopped him from calling them, he even has their mobile numbers so he could call and message them but he never does.

Now my peaceful day has been very rudely interrupted because I am sat here seething! Angry

bingoringo4 · 17/02/2024 17:27

Fabulous, been food shopping, now about to run a bath for the kids and chill out for the evening 🥰 love Saturday nights

PrincessHoneysuckle · 17/02/2024 17:27

It was ds 10th birthday yesterday so we've had a quiet one today.
Watching a video that my dad did of ds from baby to present and drinking a glass of red

alldone · 17/02/2024 17:33

I have waited in for IKEA to collect a damaged sofa and deliver a new one all day. 3 weeks worth of IKEA being useless for it still not to be collected and re delivered.
Huge boxes sitting in a tiny living room and now no one to build it until next weekend assuming they manage to deliver the sofa on the fourth attempt on Monday. So fed up with them just not communicating, having to chase them, deliveries cancelled without telling me and all my time being used up chasing them and waiting in for them.

ClawdeenWolf · 17/02/2024 17:39

Lazy morning with 6 year old DD, had breakfast in bed and listened to the radio together whilst she played on her tablet and I scrolled through MN. Swimming in the afternoon, chippy tea and we're now watching a movie before bed. A nice relaxed day.

Quizine · 17/02/2024 17:47

Two soda breads in the oven, one white with mature cheddar added, one wholemeal. Smells gorgeous.

Fixed the sliding porch door it was sticking. Cleaned the runners and used WD40.

Got sharpie marks off the front door (don't ask how they got there). Put white board marker on top, wiped a bit, then used a teeny bit of WD40 on a rag and rubbed. Gone. Magic - and I just tried it to see if it would work. Chuffed.

Now sitting down (did lots of other boring Saturday jobs of course also), with a mug of hot choc and going to have home made soup (defrosting) and the soda bread for tea in a bit.

I love days like this. Didn't leave the house and I don't care either!

KTSl1964 · 17/02/2024 17:47

Collected son from school after he returned from a ski-ing trip. Did two lots of washing, marinated loads of chicken with a home made fajita mix and made a chicken madras. My son is still sleeping and I’m making myself steak with jacket pot and peas. Spent too much time watching Mr and Mrs Smith on Amazon. 😁

frenchfancy81 · 17/02/2024 17:58

Bacon and egg sandwich, long walk in the woods, home for a cuppa and played with Lego, Mum came over for a catch-up for two hours and we had tea and cake, listened to music and played, now telly time while I make dinner. A very rare quiet day and it's been lovely!

LBOCS2 · 17/02/2024 18:16

McDonald's breakfast all around this morning, then got cracking clearing out DD's room which is a disgusting shit tip and really needed tackling. Got 2/3rds of the way through then went to volunteer in our local woodland, coppicing hazel and learning lots of new skills which was fascinating.

Now back on the sofa trying to warm up (it was a bit drizzly and chilly) with a glass of wine, contemplating what to have for dinner.
I want steak, DH is suggesting carbonara and the DC are not interested because they had a massive bowl of pasta each at 4.30pm.

BouleDeSuif · 17/02/2024 18:25

@biglog I stick the bags into the park bins and shove them down, and pretend I was never there.

Zanatdy · 17/02/2024 18:26

Normally do a 5-7 mile walk with my ladies walking club followed by lunch in a country pub. That’s what they all did and I was laid up with sciatica or a trapped nerve or some kind of top leg pain and tingly toes. So frustrating

biglog · 17/02/2024 18:33

@BouleDeSuif I get you, my lips are sealed🤐

mumda · 17/02/2024 19:14

Great until an hour ago when someone sent a negging email which has frustrated me.

BLT2024 · 17/02/2024 19:27

It was going really great until I just heard Eric Cantona sing on MM Big Show 🙉
