Camping advise- Newbie

Help! I am due to go camping this summer, very exciting, but I need some advise on what to sleep on, I have a back problem that is kept at bay at home with a memory foam mattress AND a further topper, I essentially sleep on a cloud.

How can I replicate this for camping? Ideally spending less than £100!

Mattress topper on your airbed and a decent sleeping bag..

I would put some sort of mattress (even a single memory foam topper) on top of a decent camp bed.

Or a hotel... an I like camping. But can hardly move some mornings...

I’d second the Thermarest mats, but they do cost more than £100 (well the Mondo King one does). I got that one after many years of trying out different mats and getting fed up of a lousy night’s sleep. I’ve had it over 6yrs and it’s still going strong. They’re worth the investment as I also use them for when guests stay over.

I bought my daughter a non branded SIM (self inflating mat) from Amazon that works well for her and is a fraction of the price of the Thermarest.

Other brands do similar: Berghaus, Kampa. But they’re also not cheap.

choose a really thick SIM. I’m able to side sleep comfortably on mine.

PM me if you have any questions (I’ve been camping for years - and it is the main holiday that I do with the kids)
