We have 4 amazing children, all now adults. Our youngest child flew the nest today and moved into her own place. It has been almost 34 years of newborns, nappy changes, playgroups and nurseries, schools, many many packed lunches, lost uniforms, parents evenings, nativity plays, exam results, proms, colleges, apprenticeships and job interviews. There have been worries and stress, excitement, celebrations, engagements, weddings, grandchildren and house warmings. Tonight for the first time it is just the two of us feeling very proud of what we have achieved but feeling a little lost with nobody to give us a hug and say goodnight. I miss my Mum tonight too, she would have been so proud and had a few wise words for me.
