Can anyone recommend a good hair oil that doesn’t leave hair greasy?

I have been using Shu Uemura Essence absolue hair oil, which I got from one of those beauty boxes a while ago, and it’s brilliant, but it’s a bit pricey for me atm, (over £30 for 50ml) just wondering if anyone could suggest some cheaper alternatives?

The problem with my hair is that it’s super thin and fine, and super straight.
So the ends can get really dry, but most oils are far too heavy for it, and even just putting on the ends can result in my whole hair becoming extremely greasy as soon as I run a brush through it.

The shu urmura oil is really good, it just seems to moisturise the ends without adding grease, thinking there must be some cheaper versions that do the same?

the rose oil by kerastase... might be pricey though

apparently prickly pear oil is excellent for hair

The lemon-aid oil from hair syrup I've found to be really good! And I have similar hair to you. It actually helps me go longer between washes. It's about £30 for 300ml or £14 ish for 100ml.

Thanks both,

The rose oil seems to be around the same price point as the one I was using, maybe even more. You’re enticing me with expensive products while I’m trying to tighten my belt lol.

I will definitely try the lemon-aid one, see how I get on with the smaller one first.

thank you!

Only a bit cheaper though! The instructions say use on roots, I don’t as I have greasy fine roots- it’s great on my ends though.

@PaperSky I have fine hair that’s prone to frizz and I’ve been using Montibello Gold Tsubaki Oil for years. It was introduced to me by my hairdresser, but you can buy it on Amazon for £9.99 for 30ml or they do a 130ml for £21. A small bottle lasts absolutely ages though. You need the tiniest amount and it smells gorgeous.

I used to use the L’Oreal Elvive one which wasn’t greasy

I have curly hair but use the John Frieda leave in spray conditioner. Not at all greasy. Just brush it through when hair is wet or refresh if your hair is dry.

I also find the Elvive one not greasy.

Also the OGX one is very similar

Honestly? Save your money. Just get a big tub of plain cream, rub a blob into your hands as handcream until its just left as a little bit greasy hands, then scrunch the ends of your hair
