Has DH ruined the laundry?

He's been cleaning some old scalextrix with WD40. He protected the table with a piece of old towel.

Then he put the old piece of towel in with a load of laundry 🙄

Laundry has now been washed three times (twice at 30 by him and once at 40 by me) and still smells. Will I have to chuck it all or is there any way to save it?

Bicarbonate of soda or white vinegar on a hot wash?

I've been googling, will try a bit of washing up liquid in the morning, then move onto bicarb and vinegar. Luckily it seems to be cheap PJs and such so I won't be too sad if it has to go.

This evening DCat has also decided to vomit up parts of the DSs cuddly toy he ate last week so also have a vomity blanket and door mat to put in the wash and have run out of powder.

Am going to bugger off out tomorrow and leave DH to a day of laundry.

Try hanging it outside. I washed a cloth with white spirit on it in my washing machine (on its own) and my washing smelt for weeks when it came out of the machine. Line drying left it smelling fine, and after a few weeks the machine (and all washing) was fine.
