Can I just check that passport countersignatures are all on line now ?

Not needed a countersignature for ages...have always just done a straight re-newal.....
But....I just cannot find my passport !

So think it will be easier to do a list/new one.

The last time I needed a countersignature I used the paper forms !

Is it really as easy as giving my friends email and details and they do it on line ?

Yes, I've both had mine signed online and signed someone else's online. It seems to be remarkably efficient.

My passport is "lost " in my house (!)

Do I still need to send birth certificate and marriage certificate off? (Which are of course in the same bag with the passport!)

My last passport was in my married name .

I didn't know the answers to this when I did mine last year. Mine was both lost and expired. So I just started doing it to see what would happen iyswim. My ds took a photo of me and uploaded it. I finished the form. They sent the uploaded photo to a friend digitally (by text I think) who replied that it was me. And I think they had to answer a couple of questions like my dob etc.

Think it took about 10 days. No birth certificate, passport number or anything.

Basically, have a go at filling an online application and it will let you know what you have to do.

It is not expired ...only got it July '22 !
So cross with myself for having a stressed out blip the last time I thought I needed it ...and didn't !
