I've not posted on this site before so I hope it's in the right place.
So me and my fiance are moving down to London in Autumn of this year (ideally in October). But because of his work, it's looking like it'll down to me to find us a flat, go to view it etc.
The problem is I'm originally from a very rural area in Wales and I have absolutely no idea how the rental market works down there... Where I'm from the whole process is more drawn out, even if only by a week or two, but from my own research it seems like if I want a flat in London I likely won't even have the chance to view it before putting a deposit down (since they're in such high demand).
I wouldn't say I'm picky but if I'm going to be spending upwards of £1k a month on rent/bills I would like to see the place beforehand!!
I was thinking maybe I should find a few estate agents down there and get on some sort of list nearer the time, but I don't even know if this idea even exists..
Does anyone know if there's any tricks to this or if I'm going about it wrong?
Thanks!
