I've just got a job as an occupational health technician for a private firm. I'm absolutely thrilled, but I've no idea what sort of attire this needs!!! I've got two weeks training away - what will I need to wear?!? And on the job as well..?! Any heads up?

As it's a technician role I am guessing you are not a medical professional yourself but you'll be working with doctors, nurses etc as well as admin staff and other technicians? Will you be doing face to face consultants with clients/service users or video, or is it a behind the scenes role? I'd assume smart casual office wear to start with and then if you find your colleagues are a bit more casual then adapt to suit - the OH people I've known the medical staff sometimes wear scrubs or nurse's uniform, or otherwise normal office wear - potentially the behind the scenes staff are a bit more casual than that. On training days people sometimes take the opportunity to be more relaxed - jeans and t shirts, hoodies etc but on your first day I wouldn't assume - it's unlikely to be full on suited and booted but maybe think tailored/non jean trousers with a structured/smart top of some kind, or a print or wrap cotton or jersey dress - sort of normal/neutral day wear?
