Any medical people about? What does a standard urine dip at the gp identify?

I have to do a urine sample as part of a medical but currently have thrush. Would this show up on a urine sample?

Not sure it would ? Thrush would be a swab.
Dip test looks for ketones, leukocytes, blood, protein things like that

I don't believe there is urine test for thrush. But, why are you worried?

@YoBeaches because I have to pass the medical and didn’t know if thrush couldn’t go against me.

It would likely show up as protein in your urine. Can't diagnose thrush from that though.

Thrush wouldn't show up, a dip wld check for uti etc.
Having an itchy fanny surely wouldn't be a reason to fail a medical though.

What job do you have that needs a urine sample to pass a medical, is it a drug test.

@TraitorsGate its for the local authority to be approved as a foster carer.

Thrush is really common, and not a reason to prevent you becoming a foster carer.

I reckon it's a drug or alcohol test, have they said what it's for and have you given permission.

No it won’t show thrush and even if it did it’s not a reason to deny you an offer.
