Humour me here.
I cooked steak sandwich and homemade chips yesterday and friend cooked the exact same for us today.

I think I was average (which given I have an incredible ability to fill a dishwasher making toast is remarkable) and I think friend was bonkers. She thinks I’m lying and there’s no way you can do it with less (what on earth 🤷🏻‍♀️) 😁.

It was

  • Steak sandwich (par baked ciabatta, steak, fried onions and mushrooms, rocket, mustard and chutney)
  • Homemade chips (literally sliced potatoes in oven with oil and salt)

I used
1 griddle pan
1 roasting tin
1 chopping board
1 small plate (for resting steak)
1 large plate (served on)
3 butter knives
1 fork
1 set of tongs
1 sharp knife

She used
1 griddle pan
1 frying pan
1 roasting tin
1 baking sheet
2 chopping boards
1 large bowl
2 prep bowls
2 large plates (1 for serving)
2 small plates
6 butter knives
4 forks
2 spoons
2 sets of tongs
2 sharp knives
1 set of chopsticks (this is really throwing me tbh…)
1 sieve

I think you've both made far too much washing up!

I'd have fried the steak in a frying pan, added onion and mushroom. Used 1 sharp knife to cut the potatoes and bread. Potatoes/ciabatta on a baking tray.

Put all food on 1 plate, used 1 knife and fork.

1 frying pan
1 baking tray
1 sharp knife
1 plate
A knife and fork

Who uses 3 butter knives??? And your friend is even loopier.

😂 so mine was
1 griddle pan - for Steak, mushrooms and onions
1 roasting tin- for chips then threw ciabatta on
1 chopping board - to cut veg on
1 small plate (for resting steak)
1 large plate (served on)
3 butter knives - 1 for mustard, 1 for chutney…no idea the third
1 fork - to hold steak while slicing
1 set of tongs - to turn steak and veg
1 sharp knife- for slicing steak

that felt normal!

(The butter knives are dp has a mustard allergy so no cross contamination in the chutney…still no idea why the 3rd though.)

To be fair, OP, I missed that you'd cooked for two!

So, two plates then. I'm not an animal. I don't make people eat off the same plate...😁

Yeah, yours sounds fine. Although I always rest my meat on the board so it doesn't get as cold.

Friend is weird.
