Is your living room at the front or back of the house?

I’m just curious to see what’s more common.

Middle. Dining room at the front, then sitting room then kitchen then bathroom.

Front, gets the sun all day. Lovely, but fades the sofa cushion!!

The back, I love it as I can shut the door and the world out! Love looking into my garden

Front kitchen at back downstairs thats is two rooms and upstairs two beds and a bathroom

Formal living room at the front and a living room off the kitchen at the back, we only use the back living room. It’s a secluded house so both rooms are very private but we use the one at the back all the time, the front living room hardly ever.

Bungalow here - living room and kitchen at the back. I love looking out to the garden and in the summer having the French doors open

Living room is at the back with patio doors leading to the garden. I do like being able to see the garden from the sofa and armchairs. The kitchen is at the front overlooking a reasonable sized front garden with a picket fence and five foot privet headge so it’s still private. I like this set up.

Back but have a second reception room at the front.

It's at the back because we have open plan kitchen/ dinner/ living room and until recently were having to use downstairs front room as a bedroom as we have four kids. Most have left home now though !

Both, have two one at front and one at the back.

Live in a flat, it's all the way through.

Back. With patio doors to the garden, which would always be my choice now. I love being able to sit on my sofa and look out to my garden. It's nothing special but I like to have an open outlook. I'm not good at cosy as I'm a tad claustrophobic.

This is my 6th house and is the first with sitting room at the back so I can see the garden which is south facing and can get very hot. Kitchen at the front, I think I'd prefer it the other way round. I downsized and compromises had to be made.

My last house (a bungalow) had kitchen and sitting room at the front with conservatory leading from the guest bedroom at the back which was a bit weird.

The living/dining room is L shaped around the stairs. The living room bit is at the front, through to the back (the long bit of the L) and dining room at "back"... but not quite back as there's a conservatory.

Back. Playroom and study at the front.

We have 2. One is big and dual aspect, so front and back with one pair of doors out to back garden. We don’t use this room much p. The other one is smaller, at the back, two sets of doors out.

Lounge at the front, kitchen/breakfast room at the back, ideal for us.
