How do people make these?

I'm interested in how to make the wooden square designs like the ones in this photo but have no idea what to google. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I use Snapfish online - look at collage prints and you can arrange them however you like.

Are you talking specifically about the wooden bit in the middle? You'll need something like a Glowforge machine - they don't come cheap!

ETA - If you're sufficiently artistic, you could do designs by hand with a pyrography kit which is much cheaper.

I would look on Etsy for the central bits... you will likely find many sellers.

Yes the middle bit, I'd like to be able to make them and something similar.
