This is getting a regular accordance. I have always slept really well all through the night. Just recently I have been waking in the night. Wide awake. Last night it was at 3 o’clock for two hours.
I don’t normally get up. Just lie there

any advice please
I’m 53 so think this must be the menopause.

I have tried. A snack before bed. No caffeine. No phone. Dark bedroom. Window open. Valerian tabs. Warm bath

staying in exactly same position not moving. I’m still wide awake for 2 hours.

I know the feeling! I sleep much better since starting on HRT and trying to have a better sleep routine. There's some good advice (including what worked for me) here:

Please help me sleep! | Mumsnet

Menopause is destroying my ability to sleep and I feel like a train wreck. Can fall asleep fairly easily but cannot stay asleep. Generally wake around...

Firstly try not to be worried about it as waking in the middle of the night is actually quite normal for humans

For sone reason menopause seems to trigger that back to nature sort of habit

It mostly shouldn't matter if you are awake if you are resting , trust that's what your body needs / if you get stressed about being awake however that does make you feel worse in the morning

But do - check that it's not alcohol or (?refiner sugar that's making it happen - try no booze and no chocolate / sweets etc for a while and eat healthier with leafy greens and nuts and vegetables
