SUPERBOWL SUNDAY

I’m currently preparing some savoury delights, got the dips and nibbles already out, beer is chilling in ice. Have between 8-10 friends coming over (half don’t care for football, just coming for the ‘party’). I’ve booked tomorrow off work and I’m raring to get this party started.

If you watch, who are you supporting? I’m the 49ers all the way. 7 SuperBowl games, won 5, the odds are looking great.

I’ve never watched an American football game before- is it always this stop-start-y? As a rugby fan I’m finding it hard to get into, there doesn’t seem to be any flow or momentum at all.
Also I managed to time it so I fell asleep all through half time and DS3 woke up for a feed just as the 2nd half was kicking off. Although by the sounds of things Usher wasn’t worth staying awake for!

We’re watching! I have absolutely no idea what’s going on. DP is explaining everything to me but I’m here for Usher! Shaky start to the performance but then it picked up. Took me back to my teenage years!

@AngeloMysterioso yes the stop start is confusing me. I think knowing rugby is actually hindering my understanding.

I got into American football back in the 90s and borrowed a book from the library and read the rules. Once you know what's going on it's pretty easy, but boy did it take a lot of reading to understand, I think I had that book reissued for 3 months or more.

I'm watching from Sydney - I loved the half time show. Usher on roller skates was brilliant!
I'm going for the Chiefs - am loving the Swift clan sightings in the celeb box!!

If the score is still tied at the end of an overtime period — or if the second team's initial possession has not ended — the teams will play another overtime period. Play will continue regardless of how many overtime periods are needed for a winner to be determined.
