I like mysteries, but nothing too involved and nothing gory. I like family dramas too. I am stuck in bad with a horrible virus. I have had a cormorant strike book on for many hours - enjoyed it but I know it very well, so waking and sleeping while it is on was not a problem!

Anything with similarly interesting characters, but not such a complicated story so not much concentration needed. I am open to suggestions

I know it's not obviously what you're looking for, but do consider Wolf Hall read by Ben Miles. Family drama par excellance and utterly compelling. I don't usually read this sort of thing but I couldn't put it down.

I've recently listened to Where the Crawdads Sing and really enjoyed it, had heard very mixed reviews so wasn't sure but glad I gave it a go. Have also listened to a few of the free books by KL Slater and have enjoyed those too. Nearly finished my last one so I'll be following this thread for more recommendations!

PS hope you feel better soon Flowers

It’s free with the plus catalogue but We Play Games by Sarah A Denzil has me absolutely hooked. I’ve got 30 minutes to go.

Michael Palin’s Round the World in 80 Days is great because it doesn’t matter if you fall asleep and I find his voice does help me sleep!

The Bee Sting by Paul Murray is a fantastic family drama (but it’s very dark, so it won’t do much to lift your spirits). I loved it.
