Do MNers disagree agreeably?

If you think they/ we do, do you accept it can be pretty feisty at times - is that ok? Where do you draw the line? Or because it's all online and no one can actually get hurt (we can all scroll on or look away) does it matter?

If you think they don't, does it matter?
Should posters do more to call out/ calm/ avoid controversial subjects?

Not seeking to comment on/ judge mods here as they appear to do an excellent and I imagine pretty thankless job.

I'm on the fence on this. Ive seen a lot of unnecessary rudeness which doesn't add any value to discussions and that I don't think would happen if the posters were talking in real life. But also accept it's an internet forum so maybe good to have a place to vent and say things that wouldn't be said in real life because of politeness.

So I am genuinely interested in people's views about the overall vibe of MN and whether collectively, posters should take responsibility for setting the overall tone.
