Large multi family homes to rent in southwest area

I want to hire a large home for my husbands 40th. Somewhere we can go with several friends and their partners and families. Ideally in or near the southwest and ideally suitable for children. Don’t mind it being rustic. Have looked at some YHAs but all seem booked out.Anyone know of anywhere?!

How far south west do you want to be?

I have and am struggling to find what we want. Essentially I want a hostel type place but possible on the child friendly side and with a more comfy hang out place. I know of a few hostels that for but they are booked already.

How many people in total?

Look up Mill Farm glamping near devizes, they have a big farmhouse you can rent as well as fancy tents. We fit 4 families with 6 kids in there (admittedly 2 were babies).

At least 8 adults and 8 children (in 4 families), so ideally each family would have a room.

A friend of mine lives near Starhill Manor, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire. Sleeps 16 - 29. Don't know how expensive it us. Worth a look?

Oh thanks I’ll look that up…..although that might be too close to home as we live in Wiltshire.

Haha, to be fair we went from Hampshire and Dorset. Finding space for 4 families is a bit of a needle in a haystack job. It did feel like we were away from it all though and it has a hot tub!

Oh really. I might consider it then. Nice walks nearby. Just need to make sure they’re enough so the kids are entertained and not driving us all crazy! 😂

We've stayed at a place in Devon called Stickwick manor. There was 24 of us, a mix of adults and kids and there was ample space for everything. We rented all 3 sections, and the 2 biggest ones are interconnected. Huge dining room, 2 kitchens, livings rooms etc.

Outside in a pizza oven shed, a games room and they also feed the lambs, chickens, rabbits in the morning which was great foe the kids.

Honestly I couldn't recommend more highly - it was so relaxed, but still special

Never stayed, just know of it:

Thanks so much for those suggestions they look great. Always nice knowing others have enjoyed their stay too. Can’t always tell just from photos how a space feels and if it works for families.
