(to the tune of "So Macho" by Sinitta)

I still buy and play CDs and DVDs. (Vinyl doesn't count as it's wankily cool now)

I've recently upgraded the Sony Picot DVD player in our bedroom with an Xbox 360 console

We don't own a smart TV, just use Chromecast to watch stuff on apps on the telly

I recently killed my Samsung mini 4 phone by dropping it into the dog water bowl. I've replaced it with a Nokia c3

Anyone calling at our house has to knock on the door

My concession to modernity is having a soundbar in the bedroom, which replaced the speakers when they died. Plus a Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom. No Alexa's or whatever.

Any other Luddites?

My children all listen to audio books before bed on a cd player. They have their own cd wallet with their collection of audio book CDs. No Alexa in our house either

We bought a new CD player a few weeks ago.
Looking to buy a new road atlas as well.

I do stream music on you tube but I want to spin my discs as well!

We have more than one record player, for my VERY old records, one for one DC who only buys new and calls them vinyl! Youngest has a CD and DVD player and buys new and used titles.
I have vintage Tupperware, does that count?

PuttingDownRoots · 10/02/2024 19:11

We recently got a new DVD player! Lots of our DVDs aren't available on streaming.

I use a debit card and my children use cash

DiamondGazette · 10/02/2024 19:15

We've got a DVD player in our campervan and have been able to buy an enormous library of DVDs courtesy of the charity shop's 10 for £1 shelf.

I wouldn't want a ring doorbell and if I want to turn the lights on and off I can get off my fat arse and do it myself.

I pay with my actual debit card, although I do have my card saved on my phone.

We still have and use DVDs and CDs (but do stream music and video as well)

No smart meters or smart speakers and never will have unless we're forced to - DH does not trust them one bit and I suspect he's right

I don't have a Kindle. I buy paper books.
I've got a CD player and it's only a couple of weeks since I last bought a CD. I don't know where to start with Spotify. (It's OK, this is not a request for someone to tell me how Spotify works, I'll get there eventually.)
I don't listen to music or podcasts when I'm running. I started running way back when portable music devices were cumbersome and learned to get by with the contents of my own head.
The only in-car entertainment I have is a radio and I'm quite happy to listen to random offerings on a small number of channels when I'm driving.
We only have one television at home, and it's small, not smart, and 13 years old. This isn't because we don't watch television; we do. However, we don't have Disney+, Netflix or any other subscription TV.
We don't have an Alexa, an air fryer, a soup maker or a food processor.
Kimchi, kombucha and kefir are all far too exotic for my palate.

My retro credential is my date of birth!
