Got up late (tired, tbf also have chronic illness).

Messed about on MN a bit. Had a glass of wine. Usually unfriendly cat sat on my lap which was nice. I can’t be arsed with much as tired of my to-do list. Preparing for a more enjoyable week next week, hopefully. I did dye my hair though.

Apart from that no major achievements at all. Or even minor ones. I will cook a nice dinner - from the freezer lol - but that’s all folks.

Anyone else have a do-nothing day? How did it go?

Went to the shop with my youngest one for some treats. Been slobbing on sofa all afternoon watching six nations rugby. Chucked a quick curry and jacket potatoes in the oven at half time 😂😂

FrenchandSaunders · 10/02/2024 17:50

Not dressed yet. Hungover after going out and drinking far too much red wine last night 🙁.

I’ve watched TV and slept on and off. Due out again tonight and can’t be bothered to move.

elliesmummy19 · 10/02/2024 17:51

Our four year old was sent home from school with a stomach bug yesterday so we’re stuck at home. Been watching Netflix while she’s been napping. And reading MN. I think I’ve read every thread at this point 😂

CanIbeRio · 10/02/2024 17:53

Tackled my overflowing washing basket and done 3 loads of washing
Changed the bed
Apart from that I've done bugger all apart from Mumsnet and play games on my phone!
Not my turn to cook either today so cue more Googling alongside wine drinking and TV watching!! Very lazy!!

Alwaystired23 · 10/02/2024 17:58

Don't bother getting dressed now OP, just put a clean pair of pyjamas on! It is funny how we all have to justify lazy days! We should just enjoy them. I've had a fairly busy day, but I'm relaxing with a cider and also watching the rugby.

mitogoshi · 10/02/2024 17:58

Got up late, stuck laundry on, dried out line! (first time since October) now sloped off to the pub to watch rugby and there's a band on after. Dp cleaned the bathroom, love himWink

DecafOatMilkCappucino · 10/02/2024 17:59

We're on holiday so 5 hours spent wandering around a local attraction. We're back at the hotel now all on our respective screens and ignoring each other until dinner time. After dinner we'll come back up and ignore each other until bedtime.

fuckssaaaaake · 10/02/2024 17:59

I wish! I'm very jealous. Although sorry for your illness, I'm not minimising that, but I'm dying for a day off but my business isn't doing well so I've not had one in 3 months. Sorry, that was an unnecessary pity party yet I'm still gonna press "post" 😂

Floralnomad · 10/02/2024 18:01

I’ve also got a cold which plays havoc with my usual chronic conditions so I’ve made a stew and spent the rest of the day on the settee watching TV - currently on our second rugby match . Fortunately for me , unfortunately for him the dog injured himself yesterday on his walk so I haven’t even needed to walk him as he’s on house arrest for a few days .

Sandsnake · 10/02/2024 18:04

Second day of heavy period so not feeling amazing (sorry if TMI!) and four year old isn’t well so we’ve stayed in all day. DS and DH went out for a bit though. I’m not great at staying in and DD wanted to do some of the craft / painting thing she got for her birthday 😱😂. Managed to get out for a run late afternoon though and now watching rugby with a gin and tonic so things are definitely looking up!

Ilovelurchers · 10/02/2024 18:17

I'm feeling unwell and we are going away for a mini-break tomorrow, so I have actively tried to make myself not do much today, and it is surprisingly hard!. I did for example get up and make my husband breakfast, as I always do when I am not at work - (it's how I show my love but its also a bit of a weird compulsion maybe?) He said several times I didn't need to and to stay in bed, but I insisted.....

I then did a minimal tidy of the kitchen, and got the bus to a local town to have a wander round, but didn't get much - a few charity shop paperbacks, some snacks for our journey tomorrow from Poundland, and a few basics from Morrisons.

Came home and have mainly been reading one of the paperbacks while my husband watches the rugby! He is doing dinner tonight - heating up stuff I cooked previously with some oven chips and garlic bread, but still, I appreciate the effort! (Kind of ....) To be fair to him he is a sweetie when I am ill (it brings out the best in him) and would do more to look after me if I requested it.

I did pack for the break too. That was quite minimal as we are going for two nights.

And that's it - not doing anything else useful till tomorrow! Enjoy your lazy days/evenings, everyone, and whatever you don't feel guilty - as women I think we can often feel we have to be doing, looking after others etc (like me, making my husband breakfast) but we don't, we really don't......

Took the boys to their swimming lesson.
Food shop.
Dressing gown back on, lounging on the sofa watching Location, Location, Location on the ipad.
Need to figure out something to eat later.
I have a cold too so my energy is low.

43ontherocksporfavor · 10/02/2024 18:23

Early hair appointment so had to be up at weekday time. Not good especially as I’m just getting over some lingering throat thing. Had a good natter with hairdresser though. Took my new hair to Aldi- yes folks I know how to live! Popped in to see my sister then home to do some chores. DH asked if I wanted to go out tonight but CBA so just opened the red and listening to the fabulous Liza Tarbuck on radio 2.

LemonShirts · 10/02/2024 18:35

I made food and washed up but that’s it.
Been sat in bed watching TV and trying to get DD to amuse herself (she’s a teenager).

wineandsunshine · 10/02/2024 18:35

First day of HT here. We had football matches this morning, home for bacon sandwiches, then a nice walk in our local country park with my 5 week old granddaughter. Fish cakes, salad and chips for dinner!

I do also have a big bar of galaxy to get through on the sofa tonight....

43ontherocksporfavor · 10/02/2024 18:55

What’s HT?
We started watching This is Us last night. So more tonight. Good so far.

UnctuousUnicorns · 10/02/2024 18:58

Half Term?

43ontherocksporfavor · 10/02/2024 18:58

Ah is it half term?
Ours is next week.

Hey @fuckssaaaaake I hope you manage to get a day off soon; everyone needs a day of kickback-rest.

I was looking a yoga (I can’t do yoga but still) type retreats in UK. There are lots on Facebook. With a few exceptions £££ cost an arm and a leg. I can just chill at home for a day for nothing!

I am on day 7 of my third Covid infection and tested positive again this morning, so I've been glum all day. I have green tonsils, violent diarrhoea and weird brain-jolts and strobe vision which my gp receptionist assures me is nothing to be concerned about. I did manage to get them to give 19yo DC2 a telephone appointment after he started coughing up blood, so that's something. DH and DC1 are being absolutely lovely though so I can't be too miserable, I am lucky to have people like them around me.

dapsnotplimsolls · 10/02/2024 19:14

Fag-end of a cold so lots of sleeping, scrolling, half-watching rugby and some online scrabble.

runningonberocca · 10/02/2024 19:42

Not very well today either. Bit of a cold/ chest infection thing ( third one this year) and topped off by peri menopausal period from hell. So have spent most of the day on the sofa , watching Hairy Bikers go West and the rugby. Can’t even face food - which is very unlike me!!

mathanxiety · 10/02/2024 20:10

Up early, fed cat who was wailing outside my bedroom door, showered, made tea, baked bread, emptied dishwasher, hoovered, cleaned bathroom, packed stuff for donation, sprayed neem oil on a plant that had a mite infestation, opened a window yo get the stench of neem oil out, closed window and lit a candle instead. Now off to do laundry.
