Feeling sorry for myself two molar teeth removed

Just putting out there. I'm feeling sorry for myself I've had two molar teeth removed yesterday. One on each side. One was broken really badly. Both had long roots and one had roots stuck into my jaw bone. It has not been fun. I had them removed under sedation.

I still feel very sore now. Is this normal? The clot is there in one tooth but the other one has a white covering on. Is this normal?? I've been taking regular pain relief. I also have been prescribed antibiotics as he had to cut my gum open.

Any positive stories please. No horror stories im already feeling delicate!

my sympathies, also had 2 pulled out in one day a few years ago

painkillers, antibiotics against infection plus ice packs, all this for 2-3 days

both were on the left side, so it swallowed, but again, over in a few days

hang in there, it will pass and it's better they are out than causing more problems still in

Yeah I've got one out in each side. I'm hoping it passes quickly. How are you now?

It’s completely normal, if you think about it teeth are in bone, if they come out “easily” it’s still a big hole in the jaw. If you’ve had difficult extractions then the bone will be damaged, if you broke a bone you’d expect pain for a while, it’s not the same thing but I find that helps patients understand.

As long as things aren’t getting significantly worse it’s normal but I hope it settles down soon.
