Anyone good at percentages?

I'm aiming for 4.8 but on 4.7 from a negative review in my shop.
Since then I've had quite a few 5 stars but I'm still At4.7.
Can anyone work out how many more 5 star reviews I need to get back to 4.8 average?

It's a weighted average, so you need 108 5 star reviews in total to get to 4.8, so another 26 assuming nobody else gives you a rating less than 5 stars.

TheDandyLion · 10/02/2024 14:51

Its worked out by adding up all the individual scores then dividing by the number of ratings.

82 x 5 = 410
6 x 4 = 24
2 x 3 = 6
2 x 2 = 4
2 x 1 = 2

410+24+6+4+2 = 446

446/94 = 4.744

26 more oh flip that's a lot 😫

At the moment your scores add up to 446 which when divided by 94 people is an average of 4.74468...

if you get two more 5 star reviews then the total will be 456 which when divided by 96 is 4.75

The 4.75 will round up to 4.8 if they are rounding to the nearest decimal place.

Why is 4.8 important to you?

Helpmeiiam · 10/02/2024 15:13

It makes me a star seller and increases my sales

How?

Higher visibility in listings? Or...?

Now this should be a GCSE maths question.
Much more fun than the "I got 65% in 4 tests, I need to get 75% to pass, what mark do I need to get in my last test which is out of 80"

Real life maths

cakeorwine · 10/02/2024 17:08

On the bright side, your median rating is 5.
And it's a skewed distribution.

Maybe a median average is better.

oddsoxxes · 10/02/2024 17:24

2 to get 4.75 which rounds to 4.8

cakeorwine · 10/02/2024 17:37

It's similar to one of those "82 teams scored 5 goals etc" questions that crop up in GCSEs

Excel goal seek is 2 more 5 star.
