I reckon she looks like Lauren Laverne and has the voice of Zoe Ball..

Katharine Parkinson

ChunkyTofu · 10/02/2024 10:20

No such thing though, is there?

Hoglet70 · 10/02/2024 10:20

They would like us to believe they look like Amanda in Motherland but probably look more like me, something out of Shameless.

Glittering1 · 10/02/2024 10:28

The average mumsnetter. Quite plain in looks and no fashion sense.

Whatonearth123 · 10/02/2024 10:29

When I seek advice on anything I always imagine the respondents as looking like sharp, sensible, librarian types.

That’s like saying what does the average woman look like

sorestupid · 10/02/2024 10:30

I think they would be older than you imagine, average age 60 ish

PossumintheHouse · 10/02/2024 10:33

Came here to say Amanda from Motherland. Although I imagine some of the richer flock to be something like Catherine Tate in those posh mum sketches.

If I went off myself, MN’ers would live mainly in gym leggings and oversized jumpers, swear more than average and be rather cynical.

They would have a blonde bob, be 5 ft 4 size 8 to 10 but watching what they eat. 45 to 55, work part time in a semi professional job. Hobbies, gardening lunch with friends, reading. Their DHs would have a 'big job'. Live in a community where they are joined Neighbourhood Watch.
Holidays to France or Italy where they self cater and go sightseeing. UK walking holidays

Shop at Boden, M&S.

Don't eat sweets have an odd glass of wine.

They would be highly organised with finances and have a good pension in their own right despite working part time even though dcs are mid to late teens.

Their houses would be clean and decorated tastefully. They would cook from scratch and eat organically.

Tiredboymum22 · 10/02/2024 10:38

Slim. Wears clothes from Joe Browns and M&S.

Willmafrockfit · 10/02/2024 10:39

some of you must be from shameless, but some are from expensive educated households Wink

it is not really something i try to imagine, unless i dislike the posts and they are from shameless Wink

She's 45 but looks 12 from all the ID requests she gets from trying to buy calpol
Expensive but plain, shapeless clothes, slim but thinks she's fat. Hair no longer than shoulder length, greying and always complaining about peri menopause and a look of grimace because her husband is up to no good again.

Does she also ask MN about what food to make for a buffet at least once per year, make a roast chicken and a salad every week and agonise over the fact her 17-year-old daughter is dating an 18-year-old man?
