Why does my nipple feel like it has a sewing needle being inserted to it?

Morning!

It's been 3 days now since I noticed just one nipple was very painful. The actual nipple bit, not the areola. I'm about as not pregnant as one could be. I'm also on antibiotics for a tooth infection - generic amoxicillin, so would have thought that would sort out any other infection.
I definitely haven't been jogging (have a disability) and I'm not prone to wearing tight bras or clothes...

So why? Please why? As if the sleep from the tooth wasn't bad enough 😭 random nipple stabs!

Is it a peri thing? Menopause not sauce.

I've got to the nurse anyway next week as am on transexamic acid (???) After bleeding for a month.

Apologies, I didn't really know where to post this...

Let's have a chat 🤣

I saw you posted this on another thread. It could be related to the tranexamic acid. I have all over chronic pain and it gave me incredibly pelvic pain. I can’t remember anywhere else, it was a long time ago.

I would recommend, if it’s not traumatizing for you, when you see the nurse next week, have her examine it or at least tell her about it if you can’t bear an exam. Like @Mummyoflittledragon says, it may well be the transexemic (I don’t know how it’s spelled either!) acid, and hopefully the nurse will know about it, or you may have a blocked duct (I had one once; they did something minor to fix it in the consultant’s office with just a local anesthetic; it didn’t require any big surgery). I get an occasional shooting pain in my right nipple, but no idea why; however, I have nerve problems so it’s just “one more.” If there’s any chance your disability affects your nerves, it could be that. I don’t have a lot of knowledge about this, but hopefully either the pain will lessen or the nurse will have a good idea. Good luck!
