How far would you travel to have your nails done?

I currently go 30-35 minutes as my nail tech has moved. I think this might be a bit too far as it turns into a whole morning or afternoon! I do like my nails after though and they last well.

What about you, if you get them done?

I go about 40 mins for mine! I do like making a day of it though, always have a great chat with my nail tech as she’s done them for years so it doesn’t bother me

I’d walk upstairs if I couldn’t find an emery board downstairs. That’s my limit. 🥹

Luckily I walk five minutes to the woman who does mine (pedi only). 20 minutes a reasonable- any more I wouldn't bother, or at least go much less frequently.

I'm lucky and my nail artist lives a 2 minute walk from my house, but I think the furthest I'd go would be into town (I live in a village on the outskirts of a medium sized town) so maybe a 10-15 minute journey including parking?

mitogoshi · 10/02/2024 00:07

It's a 10 minute walk or on the way home from work in the car, that's far enough

Bluewallss · 10/02/2024 00:08

10 minute walk and walk ins only. I’m too lazy otherwise.

Greensleevevssnotnose · 10/02/2024 00:08

10 minute walk, takes an hour so allow 90 mins

surprise4 · 10/02/2024 00:10

I go 5 mins into town. I'd probably be prepared to drive 20 mins though if they were amazing.

To my DD 16 bedroom next door Grin

I bought her a kit for Christmas and she does acrylic / gel type nails etc

I just use her uva lamp or whatever it is and it hardens the gel so I do my own nail varnish and she does the rest for me

She also does LVL lashes with a kit and another type of lash thing that glues on fake lashes for a week

She applies crystals and creates designs

StarTwirl · 10/02/2024 00:16

I refused to pay regularly for her acrylic nails and she didn't want to spend £30 every 6 weeks from her pocket money and part time job money so now it's win win for both of us

And she sees the value of cash ie spending someone else's and her own. She's learnt to budget yay
