Any Cork MNers around?

There's a possibility I'll move from Scotland to Cork for my job. Can anyone recommend any areas to look at for renting a one or two bed house? I'm happy to live outside the city itself, which is where the job is, and to live within commuting distance. Ideally within 45 minutes, one hour max if it's a very affordable or pleasant area. I've lived in cities, rurally and coastally and I drive so I'm quite flexible with my enviromment. Many thanks in advance!

We have family about a 30 minute drive from Cork city, near Blarney. It's a lovely area. Good luck with your search.

Blarney is lovely and is north of the city.. which side of the city will you be working?
Middleton is East Cork and is a lovely little town with more reasonable rent and stunning coastline nearby. It's about 30 mins to the city.

If you want a bigger town Ballincollig would have lots of apartments and is slightly west of the city.

It would be near University College Cork. I'm not clear on the different sides of the city yet! This is the very early stages of research. The move might not be for up to a year but I like to look at things in detail

That's bang in the centre of town so the world is your oyster. Parking can be limited enough in the city centre around ucc so a bus service from a place like Glanmire, Rochestown etc would be very handy . Midleton/ carrigtohill and Cobh also have a train service into the city.
45 mins from there also.includes kinsale etc but that is a more expensive place and less smaller properties.
